Celebrating Lunar New Year 2023

Asian-Inspired Dining & Year of the Rabbit

Thomas Cuisine is ringing in the year of the Rabbit during the 2023 Lunar New Year starting January 22nd. With its rich focus on community and togetherness, this event will be celebrated for a limited time in a variety of ways across Thomas Cuisine cafes. You’re invited to explore Asian-inspired #realfood, beverages, and décor while we celebrate our journey toward another year.

In this Year of the Rabbit, we invite you to share well-wishes of health, luck, happiness, and prosperity with family and friends by enjoying a meal together and maybe even exchanging a small gift. In addition to offering your typical café favorites, our team members will be extending our well-wishes through Asian-inspired specialty options during Lunar New Year. These entrées feature abundant use of fresh vegetables, flavorful spices, and lean meats like fish during mealtimes to flavorfully fuel your day and encourage optimal health.

Benefits of Asian Cuisine

With an emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce, Asian cuisine frequently features a 3:1 ratio of vegetables to meat. This offers more fiber and nutrients compared to the standard American diet, while there are thousands of delicious vegetables found in Asian cuisine, a few popular ingredients that our Chefs frequently use include Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, Mustard Greens, Daikon Radish, Water Chestnuts, Chinese Broccoli, Chinese Eggplant, and seaweed. Our Chefs frequently offer scratch-cooked Phở, stir fry, steamed vegetables, grilled fish, and house-made sushi, but Lunar New Year will offer even more delicious items for you to enjoy!

Lunar New Year Best Practices

Commonly observed traditions during Lunar New Year include exchanging red envelopes containing money for good luck, visiting with friends and relatives, wearing red for good luck and success, and sharing mandarins for good fortune and wealth. Practices also avoid speaking of death, washing or cutting hair, crying, buying shoes or books, and house cleaning during the 15-day celebration. The belief is that these actions may sweep, cut, or otherwise discourage your good fortune for the year ahead.

We look forward to celebrating the Lunar New Year together and wish you happiness, health, prosperity, and #realfood all year long.
