Finding a company that shares your values around people, business, and dining is an important consideration when saying ‘yes!’ to partnering with a foodservice management company. Our values of Humility, Integrity, Ownership, Passion, and Teamwork are shared by many leaders at Thomas Cuisine and inspired by our founder, Thad Thomas.
Thad Thomas upon retirement released his Founder’s Vision to keep Thomas Cuisine on the right track in years to come. In that, he shares, “We have over the years built a very unique culture . . . a culture that cares about each other and our customers, a culture that values and rewards hard work especially when that hard work delivers achievement, a culture that values and promotes honesty amongst each other and in our business dealings, a culture of fun and laughter, and most importantly a culture of volunteered teamwork. Our culture may in fact be our greatest accomplishment to date. My final comments as you engage the future is to guard and protect this culture . . . I believe it to be our greatest asset.”
One of Thad’s most discussed values in his Founder’s Vision is integrity. He says, “Never let it be about the money. Rather make sure our ‘Why’ is fueled by the honor of doing things right, and integrity in decision-making and quality.”
This guides both how we treat our team and our clients. Thad put into place our mission of genuine service and enduring partnerships. He states in the Founder Vision: “Take care of your customers . . . work hard for them and without grandstanding make sure they know you are always working in their best interest, that you are working hard, that you are getting the right things done, and that you are on a constant track of improving yourself and therefore the work you do for them.”
Our current President and CEO, Alison Patt, adds her perspective on living your personal values at work and as a foodservice management provider with this story: “My favorite Thomas Cuisine value has always been integrity. When I was a kid, my mom would always remind me, ‘Don’t say anything you wouldn’t want announced over the school loudspeaker.’ That’s always stuck with me. As a leader, I believe our clients, our customers, and our team members all deserve my uncompromising commitment to ethics and character . . . I also love that the same commitment to integrity shows up every day in our kitchens. Whole, fresh, REAL food of unwavering quality is core to who we are. In a world filled with questionable ingredients, it’s a privilege to serve at a company that puts integrity on the daily menu.”
