In accordance to the Cancer Treatment Center of America, 80 percent of cancer patients suffer from malnutrition during their treatment. Understanding and navigating the complexities of food, nutrition, and support during these times for patients can be overwhelming, which is why Thomas Cuisine has partnered with a Mountain West cancer institute to help support patients along their treatment journey.

To expand on this exciting new partnership and community focus, Thomas Cuisine President and CEO Alison Patt recently sat down with Gemma Gaudette, host of the award-winning show, Idaho Matters to discuss supporting the nutritional journey of each patient through interactive classes, designed to elevate and support patient lifestyle through the power of food, during and after treatment. About The Teaching Kitchen and Empowering Lifestyle Through Real Food

With support from our valued partner, Benefis in Great Falls, Montana, our teams of Registered Dietitians and Chefs have come together with our partners to create a regional Teaching Kitchen which provides structured in-person classes tailored to support cancer patients with the biggest nutritional challenges they’ll face during and after treatment. With a compassionate and supportive approach, team members provide a roadmap for patients to converse about recommended dietary changes while learning recipes that they can make at home, how to have fun while making new lifestyle choices such as living alcohol-free (mock-tail party, anyone?), and hands-on opportunities to prepare and understand the power of Real Foods with our Chefs, Dietitians, and wellness experts.

As a company, our Founder, Thad Thomas taught us the importance of learning the truth about what we put into our body. Having faced his own health challenges, Thad diligently guided us toward Real Food as a way to manage wellness, resulting in a vast collective of professional health and wellness teams who believe in the power of real, wholesome food.
