Dining Service Becomes Delivery Service at Continued Care Retirement Communities
Now more than ever, we reflect on the impact of food and togetherness. As it stands in April 2020, for everyone’s safety, food service within the Continued Care Retirement Communities is functioning as a delivery service instead of a restaurant dining experience. During this time, thousands of hot, made from scratch meals are being delivered straight from the kitchen to residents. A shift like this can be quite an adjustment for many residents, because eating together in the dining hall or catching up over coffee is an important social time. It’s truly delightful to see how resilient, appreciative, and gracious the Lifespace Residents have been with this big change of having food come to them. Below, you can view photos of hand-written, positive feedback that has flooded into Village on the Green during this COVID-19 adjustment time. Meanwhile, Edgemere Residents plaster their doors with kind thank you letters to our delivery staff, and at the Lifespace Community, Beacon Hill our Food Service leaders Alan, Juliann and Chef Gabriel participated in our client’s engaging idea of featuring a “Culinary Tonight Show” on their YouTube channel as a special feature for the Residents.
