Several years ago Thad Thomas, our founder, penned his vision for Thomas Cuisine Management. He envisioned TCM as a company with a unique focus on health promotion in an industry of low priced convenience foods. In his vision statement, he told us to, “Create and build a company that is considered unique, special and different by those we serve, the associates we employ and our competitors.” As part of that vision, the idea of serving whole, fresh, home cooked foods and eliminating preservatives and “junk” in the food that is served across our counters became a focus. Thad clearly understood the healing power of food and that we need to be part of the healthcare solution.
REAL food is no longer a singular promotion, campaign, or station concept. REAL Food is a component of our Mission Statement: REAL Food, Genuine Service, Enduring Relationships.
In 2015, we introduced the REAL Food campaign that color coded food with red, yellow or green icons. The color coding was based on criteria, measuring the health benefits of ingredients and preparation methods of each offering. It was eventually decided that the red icons carried a negative stigma and we wanted to provide a more positive method of informing our patrons about their food choices. TCM modified our REAL Food campaign, focusing on our vision of providing a balance of great tasting, healthy food combining health and wellness. Fast forward to 2017 and the REAL Food Vision. REAL Food is no longer a singular promotion, campaign, or station concept. REAL Food is a component of our Mission Statement: REAL Food, Genuine Service, Enduring Relationships.
REAL Food is flavorful, healing, nutritious and comes from natural ingredients. We don’t have to color code what we offer, because what we offer is exceptional quality, prepared by passionate culinary teams. TCM is moving towards leading our industry and providing service that revolves around the best tasting, most nutritious food available. REAL food is our vision, it’s what Thomas Cuisine Management lives by and what Thad Thomas proposed when he told us to be unique and different, and it’s what sets us apart from our competition.
