TCM Opens First Healthcare Account in Oregon
Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Ontario (SAMC – Ontario) recently made the decision to contract with Thomas Cuisine Management to operate all of their dining services at the hospital.  SAMC - Ontario, formerly Holy Rosary Medical Center, is an acute care hospital serving Ontario and the surrounding communities in Eastern Oregon and Southwestern Idaho.  SAMC - Ontario began their affiliation with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise back in April 2010.  Thomas Cuisine was selected to operate their food and nutrition services because of their commitment to quality scratch cooked food, first class customer service, and professional management.  Implementation is expected to start in July 2011, with a grand opening scheduled later this fall.

Fairchild Semiconductor and Thomas Cuisine Partner
Fairchild Semiconductor awarded TCM the contract to operate their dining services at their West Jordan, Utah facility beginning in June 2011.  Fairchild and TCM are collaborating in a major remodel of the café, kitchen and service area.  A grand reopening of their dining facility is planned for late July 2011. A key factor in TCM’s selection to operate the dining services at Fairchild was based on their outstanding reputation for quality and professionalism in the Utah region.

TCM Appoints Haggerty Director of Training and Development
Kathleen Haggerty will be assuming the important role of Director of Training and Development for Thomas Cuisine Management.  After spending 10 years in Operations, Kathleen is excited to apply her skills and talents in a new direction.  She is taking on the challenge of developing the company’s most important assets, our “people.”   “As I have said many times, our ability to become the best food service company is tied to having the most skilled and engaged associates:” states Mark Kadell, President and CEO.  
Kathleen has been in the food and beverage industry for 20 years.  She is a graduate from Arizona State University with a BS in Communications.  As a District Manager, Kathleen has opened 16 new accounts during her tenure with Thomas Cuisine along with overseeing several Utah and Washington accounts.

TCM Selected as One of Idaho’s Best Places to Work
Thomas Cuisine Management was among the top ten large companies selected in the Idaho Business Review’s Best Places to Work in 2011.  The Idaho Business Review teamed up with a nationally recognized marketing research company to identify the best places to work in Idaho and the best practices to attract and retain employees.  TCM continues to add accolades reflecting their commitment to excellence to its proud and rich history spanning 25 years.

Thomas Cuisine to Serve Students at Everett Community College
Thomas Cuisine was recently awarded the dining services contract at Everett Community College.  Thomas Cuisine was selected through a competitive bid process and chosen for their commitment to providing numerous healthy options, sustainable practices and their outstanding reputation throughout Washington.  

ECC is a two year college in Everett, Washington, north of Seattle.  The college has nearly completed the construction of a brand new dining hall and is scheduled to open the end of March.  The café will feature a large seating area, three televisions, a balcony and a fireplace. The Cascade Range Café is located in the center of campus in the Parks Student Union Building.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center and TCM Join Forces.
Providence St. Joseph Medical Center contracted Thomas Cuisine Management to oversee their café, patient dining and catering services beginning January 2011.  Providence is excited about the new partnership and chose Thomas Cuisine because of their outstanding reputation in the great State of Montana.  

St. Joseph’s is located in Polson, Montana which is at the foot of Flathead Lake.  Café Dieu has been newly remodeled and redecorated for an even more enjoyable dining experience.  A grand opening is scheduled for late February.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa Partners with Thomas Cuisine Management
Formerly Mercy Medical Center, Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa recently contracted with Thomas Cuisine Management to operate all of their dining services at the hospital.  Thomas Cuisine was chosen for their commitment to providing delicious, healthy foods and dietary staff development and training.  SAMC - Nampa began their affiliation with Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise back in April 2010.  Thomas Cuisine is looking forward to serving the patients and staff at the medical center in Nampa.  Full service is expected to start in April 2011.

Community Medical Center teams up with Thomas Cuisine Management
Community Medical Center is located on a 45-acre campus in Missoula, Montana. They are a full-service community hospital employing over 1,100 personnel and is licensed for 146 acute-care beds. Thomas Cuisine Management is contracted to manage all of Community’s food service needs including patient services, café dining and catering events.

Chinn Promoted to Senior Food Service Director
Keith Chinn, the Food Service Director for Davis Hospital and Medical Center has been promoted to Senior Food Service Director. Effective immediately, Keith will be overseeing both Salt Lake Regional Medical Center and Davis Hospital & Medical Center. Keith has been with TCM for 8 years and he has successfully been a director within the IASIS Healthcare System since May 2004. His dedication to strong fiscal management and customer satisfaction have earned Keith this promotion.

Huffman is TCM’s newest District Manager
Rich Huffman has been promoted to District Manager and will have immediate oversight responsibility for all Montana operations. Rich will also have responsibility for designated operations in Washington. This promotion is a result of his continued delivery of high quality outcomes and his ability to relentlessly pursue great food, genuine service and enduring relationships.

New Partnership with PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center
PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center is a two-campus medical center and Level III Trauma Center with 253-beds and over 2,200 employees in Bellingham, Washington. As of August, Thomas Cuisine is managing all the food service needs which include patient services, café dining and catering events. Thomas Cuisine is planning a grand re-opening of the North Tower Cafe on December 6, 2010.

May 2010

State Farm Insurance Contracts with Thomas Cuisine Management
TCM was selected as the food service provider for State Farm Insurance in Dupont, Washington. State Farm’s campus employs approximately 1,200 personnel. TCM brought in management teams from throughout the company to help open the account on Monday, May 17th. TCM will be providing cafeteria dining, catering and vending services and is looking forward to a long partnership with State Farm.

New Director of Business Development added to TCM team
Mark Pyper has joined the TCM management team as the new Director of Business Development. Mark brings over 20 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing to TCM. He has worked with such companies as Marvell, Micron Electronics, Compaq and LiteTouch and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brigham Young University. In his new role, Mark will have responsibility for all sales and marketing activities at TCM.

TCM is Awarded Enumclaw Food Service Contract
Enumclaw Regional Hospital is an acute care facility that serves communities in Southeast King and Northeast Pierce counties, Washington. Founded in 1949, Enumclaw is licensed for 38 beds and is designated as a critical access facility in the U.S. Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services program for rural hospitals. Thomas Cuisine Management will begin patient, dining and catering services at Enumclaw in early April.

Three TCM employees promoted to Senior Food Service Directors
Ron Hamakawa, Bryon Orr and Kelee Hansen have done an exemplary job managing their accounts, as well as perpetuating our corporate culture and values and have recently been promoted to Senior Food Service Directors.

Ron Hamakawa has been with TCM for 6 years and will be overseeing several accounts in the Washington area. Bryon Orr has been with TCM for 12 years and will be overseeing some accounts in the Boise, Idaho area. Kelee Hansen has been with TCM for 4 years and will be overseeing our several accounts in the Magic Valley area. Their promotion provides our firm an opportunity to be prepared for our future growth with strong individuals that know and have delivered the Thomas ideals.

St. Anthony’s Medical Center partners with Thomas Cuisine
St. Anthony Hospital opened its new facility on Tuesday, March 17 in Gig Harbor, Washington. St. Anthony’s is a full-service community hospital employing nearly 500 personnel and is licensed for 80 beds. St. Anthony’s is distinguished by its range of inpatient and outpatient medical services and environmentally sensitive construction. Thomas Cuisine Management is contracted to manage St. Anthony’s food service needs for patient services, café dining and catering events.

TCM hires Director of Training & Development
Bob Rock was recently hired as TCM’s Director of Training & Development. He has over 25 years of professional development and training experience, as well as design and management of corporate training programs throughout the US. Bob is responsible for technical and compliance training, employee development, and management of TCM’s Corporate University. Passionate about learning, Bob has broad experience in adult learning and advanced training technologies. Bob is a Navy veteran, earning his Bachelor of Science in Management and his Master of Science in Management from Southern Wesleyan University.
